SEEING ALONG THE WAY

Meandering rather than moving with a fixed destination and timeframe has always been a preference of mine. Using photography as a means to express myself from an inwards pointing place rather than the outside it allows me to make a picture instead of taking one. Some of the situations I find myself in can be seemingly opposites but rather looking from than looking at adds a often surprising quality to a photograph.

Having a photograph of a texture or pattern printed large and applied to a wall as a decoration is a real alternative to a wall-paper with a repetitive pattern.

It can be a single image of something abstract or realistic which becomes part of the decor and furnishing of a room rather than a piece of framed art on the wall.
